Air Connections

Dresden’s Airport (DRS) is situated 9 km north of the city centre. There are direct flight connections from numerous larger German and international cities.
> A direct flight connection from Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) exists with flights several times a day.
> Flying to the Berlin Airports (TXL or SFX) or to Leipzig (LEJ) is also possible, the connecting train to Dresden takes approx. 2-3 hrs.
> Dresden’s Airport has its own urban rail connection (S-Bahn): It takes 20 minutes to the station Dresden-Neustadt or to Dresden-Hauptbahnhof (main station).
> Travelling by taxi from the Airport to the city centre takes approx. 30 min and costs 20 Euro.

Rail Connections

Dresden is a railway junction on the ICE and EC/IC network of the Deutsche Bahn. There are several services daily from all larger German cities. All EC/IC/ICE trains stop at the stations Dresden-Hauptbahnhof and Dresden-Neustadt. For international travellers there are direct connections from Aarhus, Budapest, Bratislava, Prague, Vienna and Zürich. Further information can be obtained via
